Here is the Red Rock Casino and Spa on the western edge of Las Vegas.

One of the reasons for the trip out to the Red Rock Resort was to get cash from the HSBC that the Google map was showing on my Google phone. I have an account at HSBC and didn't want to pay the $3.00 ATM fees that the other banks were charging. So we burned $6.00 of gas in search of the promised HSBC. It turns out that HSBC doesn't have any branches in Las Vegas. They only have a very nice looking call center ( with no ATM inside ). You'd think that if they're going to hire people in Las Vegas to answer their phones, HSBC would give those employees some perks like no fee checking at a local branch or something. Nope, no bank, just a call center.

We left the Red Rock Casino and then ventured west on West Charleston Blvd into the hills just west of Las Vegas. About three miles out, we saw signs for a desert spring so we went to take a look.
The sandstone mountains were pretty in person, these photos make it look like a construction site by comparison.

To a North Easterner like myself, "Springs" has a different meaning, this thing that they referred to as a "Spring" was a standing puddle. If you stepped into it, you might get your ankles wet, a little.

Back in town, this was the view from my hotel room. If you ever stay at Paris Las Vegas and you get a room with a "P" after the number, smile, it's a good one. This is the view from 724p.
